What are the Regions of Denmark?

Denmark is divided into five regions: the Capital Region (Hovedstaden), Zealand (Sjælland), Southern Denmark (Syddanmark), Central Jutland (Midtjylland) and North Jutland (Nordjylland). Each region has an elected council, and their main job is running the country's hospitals and healthcare, along with some regional development and public transport. The regions were created on 1 January 2007 by a major local government reform, which replaced Denmark's 13 counties (amter) and merged its municipalities into 98 larger ones. Greenland and the Faroe Islands are self-governing parts of the Kingdom of Denmark and are not part of the regional system.

Current quiz contains 5 regions: Hovedstaden, Midtjylland, Nordjylland, Sjaælland, Syddanmark.
