What are the Provinces of Belgium?

Belgium has ten provinces, five in Flanders and five in Wallonia. This quiz also includes the Brussels-Capital Region, which is not part of any province. The provinces date back to the départements created when France ruled the area from 1795, which were kept as provinces under the United Kingdom of the Netherlands and then by independent Belgium from 1830. For most of its history Belgium had nine provinces. In 1995, as part of the country's move to a federal state, the bilingual province of Brabant was split into Flemish Brabant, Walloon Brabant and the Brussels-Capital Region, along the language border.

Current quiz contains 11 provinces: Antwerp, Brussels, East Flanders, Flemish Brabant, Hainaut, Liege, Limburg, Luxembourg, Namur, Walloon Brabant, West Flanders.
