What are the Divisions of Bangladesh?

Divisions are the largest administrative units in Bangladesh. Each is headed by a divisional commissioner and contains several districts. This quiz shows seven divisions: Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet and Rangpur. The first divisions were created by the British in 1829, when Bengal was split into commissionerates for revenue and administration, including Dhaka, Chittagong and Rajshahi. Khulna became a division in 1960, Barisal in 1993, Sylhet in 1995 and Rangpur in 2010, each split from an existing division. In 2015 Mymensingh was carved out of Dhaka Division, bringing the total to eight.

Current quiz contains 7 divisions: Barisal, Chittagong, Dhaka, Khulna, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Sylhet.
