Pakistan is a federation made up of four provinces (Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan), the Islamabad Capital Territory and two separately administered territories, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The provinces grew out of the provinces of British India that became part of Pakistan in 1947. In 1955 the western provinces were merged into a single unit, West Pakistan, but this was dissolved in 1970 and the four provinces were restored. Several units have since been renamed or reorganised: the North- West Frontier Province became Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2010, the Northern Areas became Gilgit-Baltistan in 2009, and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (F.A.T.A.), shown on this quiz's map, were merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2018.
Current quiz contains 8 administrative units: Azad Kashmir, Baluchistan, F.A.T.A., F.C.T., N.W.F.P., Northern Areas, Punjab, Sind.
